Walking the Landscape: The Wells of Silverdale
The Wells of Silverdale walking route, promoted by the Arnside/Silverdale Landscape Trust in Keer to Kent, takes in much of the beauty of the village of Silverdale. We’ll be following an adaptation of this route to visit a range of the village’s wells and springs, which were vital to village life up until the installation of mains water in the 1930s.
This route is of moderate difficulty, using paths with uneven ground, inclines and stiles. The walk will last for approx. 3-4 hours and there will be an opportunity to break for lunch.
Please bring:
- suitable clothing, including layers and a waterproof jacket
- water / drinks
- food (either snacks for energy or a pack up) – and remember to have a big breakfast!
- sunscreen (if sunny)
- walking boots
- spare socks – the route includes some sections of boggy/wet ground
- a phone
- walking poles (if usually used)
Unfortunately this route is unsuitable for dogs.
An e-mail with details about meeting points and other information will be sent out prior to the event. Places must be pre-booked – book your place via our EventBrite page.
This is a joint National Landscape / Landscape Trust event.
