    Ready for Bake-Off!

    June 25th, 2015

Cake_65As part of Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’s (AONB) first Food and Local Produce Festival, you are invited to take part in the inaugural fun AONB Bake-Off! With our very own ‘Mary Berry’ – experienced WI cake judge Dorrie Galbraith heading the judging panel, and some fabulous prizes on offer!

Prizes generously donated by Lakeland, the Heron Corn Mill and Booths include gorgeous retro Heron bread tins and flour, Lakeland vouchers and recipe books (including a signed Paul Hollywood book!) and a lovely Booths apron and cake tin.

Judging will take place at the Arnside WI Hall from noon on Tuesday 14 July, so please bring cakes along between 12 and 12.30. If you need to drop your cake earlier, please give us a call 01524 761034. Cakes can be collected from the WI Hall after judging between 3pm and 4pm. Please bring your cake in a container marked with your name, with a loose card or paper inside the container with your name and contact number on one side, and the name of your cake and your age (if you are under 16) on the other.

Entries in three sections are invited: Seniors (16+), Juniors (11-15) and Juniors (5-10). Seniors are asked to bake ‘My favourite cake’, and the junior sections decorated cupcakes.

The AONB Bake-Off is a fun event for the whole community and cakes will be judged on appearance and taste.

The AONB Bake-Off is part of the Arnside and Silverdale AONB Food and Local Produce Festival which takes place across the AONB from 10-26 July. More information on festival events in the programme.
