Enjoying the outdoors makes kids and families happier
Arnside & Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is planning to work with partners across the area to organise a WILD! festival for families and children next year and we need your help! If you can spare three minutes filling in our survey, you’ll help us to tailor the exciting activities to meet your kids’ needs, and you’ll potentially increase the amount of funding we can secure.
Every day there is another report about how to be happier, how British children are getting obese, how we don’t spend enough time outdoors.
The evidence is overwhelming, that kids who spend time outdoors are healthier, calmer, happier, and perform better at school than kids who don’t; they are at decreased risk of developing ADHD, myopia, mental health problems and cardio-vascular problems.
Arnside & Silverdale AONB want to help parents to get their kids outdoors in a way that works for them. Do you want free activities? Support for schools to get kids outdoors more? Supervised outdoor free play sessions? More information about how to get to the countryside and what to do when you arrive? We want to make it easy for you to access the beautiful countryside on your doorstep and make the most of time spent together outside.
To make sure we plan the most useful activities for you and your children, we need your help, so fill in the survey and give us your thoughts!
