Annual conference 2016

December 17th, 2015

dallas_rd_visitArnside & Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’s annual conference will be held on Wednesday 27 January at the Heron Theatre, Beetham. Our topic this year is ‘Working Together’.

We are thrilled to announce our keynote speaker for the 2016 conference will be Mark Sears, Chief Wild Officer of The Wild Network.

The Wild Network is a collaborative venture, a network of thousands of people and organisations with a collective vision to re-wild childhood. They provide support, tools, inspiration and knowledge for adults, parents, schools and communities to help their kids lead nature-rich, free-range childhoods.

Other speakers include local tenant farmer Johnny Bland on how his work benefits the landscape; Louise Martin from Morecambe Bay Partnership with an exciting update on the latest findings on the Warton Crag Iron Age Hillfort; Jarrod Sneyd, of RSPB Leighton Moss, on the benefits to our landscape and wildlife by working together across organisations; and Peter Standing of the Arnside & Silverdale Landscape Trust, who will be giving an update on their 2016 events programme. The day will end with an optional guided walk, so please bring suitable outdoor clothing.

Places are free and open to all, but must be booked in advance.
