New Chair for the Landscape Trust
June 21st, 2016
The Arnside/Silverdale Landscape Trust has a new chair. Welcome to Fiona Allan!
Fiona is an AONB resident – living in Warton – and has been a member of the Landscape Trust for many years. Her career started in the NHS – as an Occupational Therapist, and later as a service manager. She then transferred into academia and retired as a Principal Lecturer from the University of Cumbria a few years ago. Fiona joined the Landscape Trust Board as a Trustee in 2013, during which time she has helped to write administration documents as required by the Charities Commission.
Fiona says: ‘I am learning all the time about the AONB, about the Trust and particularly about the very special area where the Trust operates. We have well over a thousand members, three reserves and a fantastic group of knowledgeable and skilled people who offer their time to the Trust on a regular basis. It is only because of the support they offer that I was happy to accept nomination as Chairman. I look forward to working with this team and watching the Trust continue to go from strength to strength.’
