Hyning Scout Wood
Lying between the villages of Warton and the Yealands, this ancient woodland is a very special place. Take a stroll beneath the wonderful big Beech and Sweet Chestnut trees, some dating back 200 years, or in Spring enjoy the amazing carpets of Bluebells.
Rare ferns and flowers found here include the Downy Currant and the Rigid Buckler Fern.
In the southern part of the wood, look out for the limekiln which has been restored under the AONB Limestone Heritage project and stands as a reminder of our industrial heritage.
