Changes to routes through Gait Barrows NNR
March 22nd, 2018
As part of Natural England’s Little Hawes Water project, there are some footpath closures in operation for safety reasons.
The routes from Moss Lane, Challan Hall and Gait Barrows pastures are closed while beech trees are felled and extracted in keeping with the Little Hawes Water project plan. Alternative routes are available, which you can see on the attached map (maps are also displayed on site).
Additionally, on Monday 26 March, the route from Brackenthwaite Road and through the Gait Barrows car park will also be closed for a few weeks to enable the extraction of the timber.
