Wednesday 23rd:

"Bats and their conservation"
Speaker: Gail Armstrong.
Warton Village Hall- 8:00 p.m.

Wednesday 30th:

Evening Walk
"An appreciation of Gait Barrows"

Leader: Rob Petley-Jones.
Looking for woodcock roding displays & at a moth trap. Rough ground - torches needed. Drive into the large Gait Barrows car park (grid ref SD 478774) - 8-00 p.m.

MAY

Wednesday 14th

AONB Office Open Morning
the Old Station Building, Arnside.
Come and meet the staff of the AONB service.
Demonstrations, Refreshments Tool sharpening, stalls
Admission Free.
10.00am to 12.00 noon.

Saturday 17th:

Walk
"Exploring the River Keer"

Leader: Linda Renshaw.
Meet at the lay-by on the A6 at Pine Lake, between the Borwick and Motorway spur roundabouts. (grid ref SD 511725)
1:30 - 4:00 pm.

JUNE

Friday 6th:

Landscape Trust A.G.M.
Heron Theatre, Beetham.
presentation and talk by a Guest speaker
7:30 pm.

Saturday 21st:

Walk and Talk
"The Leighton Moss Reedbed Restoration"

Led by RSPB.
Meet at the RSPB Visitor Centre - Education Room at 1.00 p.m.
The event will last about two and a half hours.
COST: £2:00 including tea/coffee/biscuits. (There is no limit on numbers but please book via the AONB Office - telephone 01524 761034 to facilitate arrangements and refreshments.)

JULY

Sunday 13th:

Cross Bay Walk.
Led by the Queen's Guide, Cedric Robinson
from Arnside to Kents Bank
Start at 2:00 p.m.
Landscape Trust Sponsored Walk - or minimum £5 donation to take part
Meet at the Registration point at the Arnside Lower Promendae Shelter, near the clock.

AUGUST

Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th:

Landscape Trust at the RSPB Summer Fair

10:00 am - 4:00 pm.
£1:00 admission to the RSPB Reserve - free to those arriving on foot, by bike, bus or train!

SEPTEMBER

Wednesday 19th:

"Landscape? It's All in the Mind"
Speaker: Stephen Padmore
Yealand Village Hall 7:45 pm.

Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th:

AONB Greenwood Fair

10:00 am - 4:00 pm.
Holgates Caravan Park, Silverdale.

Landscape Trust Coffee Morning

Gaskell Hall, Silverdale 10 am - 12 noon.

NOVEMBER

Wednesday 7th:

End of Season Social Evening and Talk
"Hawes Water - Origin, Evolution and present-day Lake Processes"
Speaker: Colin Patrick - Chairman of the Landscape Trust. Yealand Village Hall 7:15 for 7:30 pm. Eating out - please bring contributions for a Jacobs Join; Talk at 8:30 - 9:15 pm; then the social evening continues.
Members and non-Members all very welcome

Throughout the year additional events are organised and details will be advertised here as they become available. Information will also appear in the "Keer to Kent" Journal and the AONB volunteer newsletter "Waymarker".
