Statutory Review

The Arnside and Silverdale AONB Partnership published the first AONB Management Plan in April 2004. This statutory document is required to be reviewed on a five yearly basis. That means that in order to produce either a reviewed and updated plan - or a completely new plan by April 2009, we have to start the review this year. In fact the first steps have already been taken and considerable progress has been made.

The Management Plan is not just a plan to guide the work of the AONB Service, it is intended to help all the organisations that make up the AONB Partnership carry out their functions in a way that helps deliver the conservation and enghancement of the Natural Beauty of the Area - what is known as the Statutory Purpose of Designation.
