There are many opportunities outside of formal education to learn more about the natural environment, wildlife and sustainable development.

The AONB Unit can support lifelong learning in the following ways:

• organise events, training courses and special interest activity days
• work with organisations such as U3A to support and guide study opportunities
• give talks to special interest groups and local societies in South Cumbria and North Lancashire
