The AONB is a great place for secondary school children to experience and learn about their natural environment and offers many opportunities for learning in other areas of the curriculum too.
The AONB Unit can work with secondary schools in the following ways:
- lead guided visits for groups to specific sites within the AONB
- offer work experience placements for students interested in a career in conservation
- offer practical experience of conservation work for small groups
- give presentations to local schools about the AONB, its importance and management
