Downloadable Leaflets

The AONB has a broad range of information leaflets available to download. Some are available in printed formats as well.

If you want you can always visit the AONB office in person (during office hours Monday to Friday) to browse and pick up any of the leaflets we have in stock. The Office is on Arnside Railway Station, so its easy to get to!

There are interpretation leaflets, walking and cycling guides, information leaflets and guides to our Local Nature Reserves. We also stock leaflets from other conservation organisations but these are not available as download at present.

Browse through these few pages until you find the information you want, then click on the cover image to download the leaflet.

Recreation - walk - cycle

The AONB Unit has published a range of walking and recreational leaflets.

Some are available only in printed formats, however a number can be obtained as both website downloads and printed leaflets. If you want a short easy walk on level ground the Easy Access leaflet will help you get the most out of your visit, longer walks can be devised following the Heritage Trail, or if you are interested in indulging geological interests, the Clints and Grykes walk will be just the thing. If you are on two wheels try our Cycle and See route leaflet. There will be lots to see as you discover the AONB. We will be adding more walking leaflets and route cards as downloads on the website in the future.

Advice leaflets

The AONB Partnership has produced a handy leaflet giving advice about the hazards posed by Ticks which are common in some areas of the AONB, particularly places frequented by deer, such as bracken and long grass.

We hope you find the advice useful - the tick advice leaflet is available as a download  or in print from the AONB Office. The tick carries the micro-organism responsible for Lyme disease and if you suffer from a tick bite and the associated symptoms described in the leaflet you must seek advice from your GP - maybe take in a copy of the leaflet to the doctors if you live in an urban area where the incidence of ticks is very low.

Don't panic though because most ticks are picked up by people's dogs during the walk and the risks of being infected are low if you follow the advice.

We also have a leaflet to help you find out how to tempt wildlife into your garden. You can download the AONB Wildlife Gardening Leaflet and then perhaps follow the links to all kinds of wildlife friendly gardening tips at the website links listed below:
