Many of the sites that are designated for their nature conservation or geological interest are managed in ways that conserve and enhance their important features.

Where management activities are carried out, there is generally a site management plan to guide practical work and other aspects of relevant work at the site. Those sites managed by the AONB Unit and the AONB Landscape Trust have uptodate management plans which can be downloaded by clicking on document links in the list of plans below:

Many aspects of the work carried out within the AONB are delivering the aims and objectives set out in the AONB Management Plan.

Frequently there will be additional research work carried out to develop an understanding of the issues involved. Also when a particular major project has been completed there will usually be a report published detailing the outcomes and legacies of the project.
