Given that the Landscape Trust's aims include promoting a greater understanding of the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, it is only natural that we should organise events and publish a journal. Members of The Landscape Trust receive a copies of the journal and can attend events for free or at reduced fees. Most events are also open to the public, although booking is sometimes required. Please contact the AONB Office prior to events to check arrangements and confirm a booking.

From Keer to Kent Books
From ' Keer to Kent' compiled from back numbers of 'Keer to Kent' by former Editor, Barry Ayre, this compact book makes very interesting reading, highlighting as it does articles selected from the first 40 issues of the Trust's journal. The articles span the formative years of the Trust up to the turn of the 21st Century.

With a foreword by Sir John Johnson, President of the Friends of the Lake District, it contains 96 pages. These cover the many aspects of life within the Arnside/Silverdale AONB, past and present and includes 7 pages of full colour illustrations.
Available from The Landscape Trust office for £4.00
In 2010 a new Landscape Trust book was published. 'The Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' by Terry Keefe. Subtitled 'Through the Pages of Keer to Kent' the book, which has received good reviews, brings together selected articles from the journal. Under the two headings of 'Geology and Landscape' and 'Plants and Animals', the material systematically exemplifies the range of items on these topics over 73 issues. With 44 pages in full colour, it reproduces some of the superb photos published in recent years.
The selection of articles is a useful introduction to a wide variety of subjects that would enable an enthusiast to develop a deeper knowledge of the area. If you are considering joining the Trust you would be well advised to read this book.

Costing £6.95, it can be purchased at some local outlets or obtained from the Arnside Station Office (£8.00 if sent by post).
