Winter Landscapes: Limestone Pavements Hale Pavement and Beetham Venue: Beetham Leader: Peter Standing A walk of approximately 4 miles exploring the limestone pavement at Hale. Other geology and geomorphology will include Shap granite erratics, limestone beds and scarps, glaciated landforms and an introduction to the Bela catchment. Landscape Trust Spring Lecture and Exhibition Walls, Walls, Walls. Venue: Yealand Village Hall Lecturer: Dr Brian Jones, Landscape Trust member and Trustee, National Dry Walling Association. Exhibition: Dry walling techniques and the AONB ancient boundary walls. Contributions from the Burton and Holme Historical Society and Mourholme Historical Society. The AONB will launch a Heritage Walls CD report which details the restoration of walls as part of the Limestone Heritage Project. Copies of the CD will be available. Exploring AONB Village Series - THE YEALANDS Venue: Yealand Village Hall This weekend will include lectures, slide shows and an exhibition. There will be guided walks exploring the woodland, limestone and history of Yealand Redmayne, Yealand Conyers and Yealand Storrs. The Leighton Hall Autumn Festival of Craft and Food is also on this weekend and the AONB and Landscape Trust will be attending. Details will appear here and on the AONB events page from July. |

Lecturers: Adrian Almond and David Talbot The lecturers will explain how the AONB landscapes and wildlife inspire them to produce prize winning images. |

Some events are free to everyone and most others are free for members. There is sometimes a small charge for non-members, refundable on joining the Landscape Trust. Educational seminars, woodland fun days and dinners have separate pricing. The full event programme can be obtained here.
