The Arnside and Silverdale AONB benefits from a strong local support network, that is firmly rooted within the local community:
- The ASAONB Landscape Trust - a registered charity with 850 members.
- Bittern Countryside CIC - a social enterprise - registered in England - Company No: 6363720
- Local community groups encouraging everyone to know about and enjoy the AONB, its wildlife, scenery and heritage.
We are a charity, set up to protect the wildlife and improve the landscape of the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
The Landscape Trust organises events, lectures, meetings, walks and talks. It publishes the journal "Keer to Kent" three times a year and manages two small wildlife reserves.
The Landscape Trust manages two small wildlife reserves - Coldwell Parrock and Teddy Heights. We welcome the public to enjoy and explore our reserves and in doing so develop an understanding of conservation management techniques and the natural environment
The AONB Landscape Trust has a comprehensive programme of events organised for the coming months. This year's programme includes a series of interesting lectures and guided walks starting in March. Details will be available shortly.
The Landscape Trust is a membership charity - we currently have over 850 members. Why not join us and contribute to maintaining the special qualities of the Arnside and Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
In 2011 the Landscape Trust celebrated it's 25th Anniversary. A weekend in late September included a photographic competition and several other well attended events.
