Arnside & Silverdale AONB Hedgerow Project

The AONB Unit has just published a report on its recent Hedgerows Project.

The Area is recognised for its extraordinary diversity of habitats and wildlife and the hedgerows have the potential to form an extensive linear wildlife reserve, which can allow species to migrate and provides essential cover for small birds and mammals.

There is a need to make sure these important landscape and wildlife features are conserved and managed sympathetically to ensure that their effective function as both boundaries and wildlife corridors are protected.

If you want to know more about the survey, which was carried out by AONB volunteers, then please contact the AONB Countryside Officer, Tony Riden by email:  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it
