Wednesday Walkabout - Aerobatic Harriers

Guided walks at Leighton Moss 10:30 - 12:30 pm

Look out for special birds of prey - the stunning marsh harriers - as they return to nest here for the summer.

Why not enjoy lunch or just a hot drink in the cafe afterwards

Wildlife Cycle Ride

Come along and join the RSPB and Wildlife Trust for exercise, beautiful scenery and a chance to learn about the wildlife along the Lune estuary.

Bikes and riders to meet on the Millennium Bridge in Lancaster and we will go on a circular ride past Freeman's Pools to Glasson Dock and back.

Please bring refreshments and binoculars if you have them

Cumbria Dry Stone Walling Grand Prix

The Dry Stone Walling Grand Prix is part of the 'Work the View' project aiming to celebrate and enhance the public benefits that farmland provides.

Competitors can enter either 1 or more of the events but to compete for a place in the Grand Prix you must participate in at least 3 events. Competitions will start at 9am, walling to be completed by 4pm. Entry forms are available from Friends of the Lake District, Murley Moss, Oxenholme Road, Kendal LA9 7SS Tel:01539 720788.

Join Colin Adams of the British Dragonfly Society on a 3 mile circular walk round Hawes Water and Leighton Moss, looking for possible sightings of Hairy Dragonfly.

Meet at Silverdale Station at 10:15.
