Volunteering with us

Our volunteers are valued and vital! The work of looking after the AONB could not happen without their help and support.

You can get involved in lots of different ways:

  • practical conservation management tasks every Tuesday
  • monthly litter picks on the second Thursday morning of every month
  • work experience placements for those interested in a career in conservation
  • assisting with the organisation and running of AONB events
  • weekly butterfly surveys and other habitat and species monitoring
  • visitor surveys
  • assisting with the peregrine watch during the bird breeding season
  • office administration
  • helping with the running of the AONB Landscape Trust charity

By working as a volunteeer for the AONB, you will be making a real difference to the conservation and enhancement of the area, meeting other like-minded people, sharing experience, and learning new skills. You will boost your self confidence, gain satisfaction from knowing you are making a difference and even improve your general well-being!

Training opportunities are provided and volunteers are expected to comply fully with health and safety requirements.
