A strong local partnership works together to conserve and enhance the Area's special qualities. The AONB Unit undertakes and facilitates active
countryside management and seeks to involve everyone in the area's protection, while raising awareness of why the AONB is so special.
Since 2005 AONBs in England and Wales have had a grant fund provided by Defra to promote sustainable development within their areas.
