Enhance Overview

A strong local partnership works together to conserve and enhance the Area's special qualities. The AONB Unit undertakes and facilitates active
countryside management and seeks to involve everyone in the area's protection, while raising awareness of why the AONB is so special.

Hedgerows
Hedgerows are boundaries for farmers, wildlife's travel corridors, historic links to the area's past and vibrant living lines across the landscape
Environmental Stewardship
Farmers and Land managers can apply for financial support to achieve conservation objectives on their land, through the Environmental Stewardship Scheme
Farming and Land Management
Protecting our Water, Soil and Air is a priority for all farmers and land managers, and Defra have produced a Code of Good Agricultural Practice for farmers, growers and land managers (the ‘CoGAP’) to help achieve these goals
Renewable Energy
Renewable Energy means getting energy from the sun, the wind, tides, flowing water and any other resource where the "fuel" can be readily replaced, re-grown or harvested
Wildlife Gardening
Gardens can be a really important wildlife habitat and still be our space to recharge our batteries too.
