AONB Team

The AONB Team works to conserve and enhance our landscape for future generations.

We are aiming for a valued, distinctive and living landscape rich in wildlife and cultural heritage. The Team is employed on behalf of the AONB Partnership to deliver and support the delivery of the statutory AONB Management Plan.

The AONB Team:

  • Takes action to conserve and enhance the landscape
  • Provides advice on management of the area
  • Secures funding and resources
  • Influences planning decisions
  • Supports communities to celebrate and enhance the area
  • Develops education resources and runs events
  • Facilitates research about the area
  • Runs an active volunteer programme
  • Promotes understanding and enjoyment of the area
  • Works in partnership with others to achieve success

The AONB Team is based at the Old Station Building in Arnside and the staff are:

  • Lucy Barron, AONB Manager
  • David Askew, AONB Officer
  • Tony Riden, AONB Countryside Officer
  • Barbara Henneberry, AONB Communications and Funding Officer
